Age guidance

The bands

Every episode, story and activity carries one of these:

• 2–4 years — very simple structure, slow pace, no jeopardy at all, lots of repetition.
• 4–6 years — a gentle problem and a resolution, feelings named out loud, familiar settings.
• 6–8 years — longer stories, mild suspense, more complex friendships and fairness.
• 8–10 years — bigger ideas, more nuance, characters who are wrong and then are not.
• All ages — usually parent-facing writing, or activities a whole family does together.

How we decide

Our early-childhood advisor reviews every band before publication. We look at story structure, pace, emotional load, vocabulary and how much adult support the activity needs.

Bands are a guide, not a rule. You know your child, and there is no wrong answer here.
