Draw four small moments from an upcoming first day so the beginning feels more familiar and easier to talk about.
What to do

Fold or draw lines to divide the paper into four large boxes.

Draw arriving, saying goodbye, finding the right place and choosing the first activity.

Let the child point to or circle the moment that feels least certain.

Choose one honest grown-up sentence that could help during that moment.

Put the plan somewhere easy to revisit, without requiring the child to look at it.
